Non-Executive Chairman
Lakshman Niyangoda was appointed as the Non-Executive Chairman of Baurs in October 2018 having served as its first Sri Lankan Managing Director/CEO since 2014. He served the Board of Baurs since 1990 and counts over 35 years of experience with the Company. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) Degree from the University of Peradeniya and served as a Member of numerous professional bodies, including the Council for Agricultural Research Policy of Sri Lanka, Standing Committee of Agriculture and Veterinary Studies, University Grants Commission and Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Board of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC since 2016.
Managing Director/CEO
Rolf has a corporate career spanning over 3 decades, including positions at Sony, Minolta and Johnson & Johnson. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. With experience in Europe and Southeast Asia he has a strong cross-cultural competency and brings a passion for operational excellence to every role. Rolf served as the CEO Alternate and Director at Baurs since 2017 and from 2018 October he serves as the Managing Director/CEO.
Deputy Managing Director / Director Agriculture
Janaka has served Baurs for nearly 30 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) degree from the University of Peradeniya. He is a member of the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka - Singapore Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka - Italy Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Agricultural Steering Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. He serves as the Deputy Managing Director of Baurs since 2015.
Director Compliance /Company Secretary
Jayendran has over 4 decades experience in the fields of Corporate Strategic Management, Financial Treasury Management, Management Accounting and Auditing in Sri Lankan and multinational companies and conglomerates. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Sri Lanka, Certified Global Management Accountants, USA and the Certified Professional Managers of Sri Lanka. He also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committees of Ceylinco Life Insurance Limited and Singer Finance PLC.
Director Corporate Affairs, Airlines, Industrial Raw Material & Textile Machinery
Amal is a professional with over 37 years of experience in Airlines and Travels, Textiles Machinery, Textile Dyes and Chemicals and International Trade. He has a vast and in-depth knowledge, and experience in dealing with the global market with regard to International Trade. He is a strong believer in teamwork and possesses strong communications and public relations skills, internally and externally. His people skills are one of his strong traits. He serves on the board of Baurs as Director Corporate Affairs/Air Services and Travel for the past 19 years.
Director Healthcare
Nishantha has over 28 years experience working for Baurs. He is an old boy of Thurstan College Colombo. His academic qualifications include Supply Chain management from NIBM and followed the General Management Executive Education Program at the National University of Singapore. He is currently reading for an MBA from Associate College of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David . He serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry also a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors. He serves in the role of Director Healthcare since 2012.
Director Information Technology
Anoja is a leader in Information Technology and business, with over 22 years’ of experience in the corporate sector. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree specialized in computer science from the University of Colombo and is a PMP holder from PMI USA. She is partly qualified in CIMA (UK). She has followed the General Management Program at the National University of Singapore. Prior to joining Baurs Anoja has worked with Hayleys , Brandix and Pricewaterhouse Coopers . Her extensive working exposure covers the areas of Project Management, Information Communication Technology, ERP Implementation and General Management. She accounts for over ten years’ service with Baurs, the last four years in her present role as a Director. She is a board member of the Project Management Institute Sri Lanka Chapter and Sri Lanka SAP User Group. She is a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors
Head of Research and Business Development – Agriculture (Director)
Chandima has over 18 years experience in the Plant Protection division. He is an alumnus of Royal College, Colombo and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Animal Husbandry from the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Animal Husbandry, India. He serves as the the Secretary/Vice Chairman of CropLife Sri Lanka and Secretary of the National Agri-Business Council, which is an affiliate of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID).
Director – Finance & Compliance
Pavithra joined A. Baur & Company (Private) Limited in 2001 and was appointed to the board in 2016. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Colombo. Pavithra is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) UK, an Associate member of the Certified Management Accountants, Sri Lanka and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). She has followed a General Management Program at the National University of Singapore and she is a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID).
